Born in Italy and fluent in Italian, Dr. Maria DeFilippis moved to the United States as a child and later attended Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago.  She was raised in Highland Park, Illinois and practiced dentistry in downtown Chicago, later relocating to Naperville.  She has been here now for over 25 years.  Dr. DeFilippis has four daughters.  Her oldest daughter in now a physician.  Her three other daughters live and work in their respective fields in the city of Chicago.  Dr. DeFilippis also enjoys cooking authentic Italian cuisine, music gardening and visiting her family in Italy.
